Week 3 Youth Summer
Week 3: July 12 – July 16
Week 3 was a blast! Sound Swashbucklers (grades 3 & 4) found baby sea robins and flounders while seining, and First Mates (grades 5 & 6) kayaked to Crab Island where they found colonies of Asian Shore Crabs! Our Bay Buccaneers (grades 1 & 2) also joined Sound Swashbucklers in sniggling, an activity where two students partner up to catch baby eels! Our youngest group also explored the life of hermit crabs and then made their own handprint hermit crab! C420 Beginner and Intermediate (ages 13-18) practiced their on teamwork and communication all week, helping each other pull their boats onto the dock and de-rig, while Opti Beginner (ages 8-15) started their week off with an adventure tow line. Our Race Teams also continued to prep for their regattas and race in them as well! Onto Week four!
We still have spots left in our science explorations classes for your children!
