Volunteering At
The WaterFront Center
Volunteer Days
It certainly takes a village to keep The WaterFront Center operational and with your help, during our volunteer days, we can continue to keep our equipment in good condition and our boats afloat.
Planned ahead Volunteer Days: Christeen Prep Week (April), Memorial Day, Youth Volunteer Week, Columbus Day, and Veterans Day.
If your class, scout group, or business would like to arrange a separate day to volunteer, contact us.
Become a CHRISTEEN Crew!
The WaterFront Center has developed a growing community of dedicated and energetic volunteers who best exemplify our goal of building a community of stewards ensuring that Oyster Bay will be an available resource for future generations.
Though Christeen was first built-in 1883, it was through the work of volunteers that the ship was restored, modified, and continuously maintained to shepherd students and passengers on education programs in Oyster Bay. Their commitment to our flagship and our organization has earned them the name of The 1883 Society.
