There’s nothing like enjoying a summer sunset on the water! Lucky enough we have plenty of options for you and your family to share that magical time together!

Sunset Yoga

Sundays at 6:30 pm

End your day in the calming and transformative light of the setting sun. Join our wonderful Yoga teacher, @salty_soul_yoga, for a 90 min on-water yoga class while basking in the relaxing energy of the setting sun. Practice a gentle vinyasa flow outside giving you a perfect place to ground and reset. SUP yoga helps improve your balance, core strength, and the ability to challenge yourself.

Golden Hour Paddle Fit

Tuesdays & Fridays at 5:30 pm

Join our Paddle Association (WPA) certified instructor John, for an on the water workout during golden hour! Trade a musky gym for the sights and fresh air with this floating fitness studio. This instructor-driven class blends core stability, resistance cardio, and bodyweight exercises on top of a stand-up paddleboard (SUP)

Classes are taught by a certified instructor and follow the standard set for SUP education by providing a challenging, fun, and informative educational environment. Correct your form to properly work for muscle groups and become a more ergonomic paddler allowing you to go farther, faster, and expend less energy.


Sunset Kayak Wildlife Tour

Schedule your Private Kayak Wildlife tour for sunset and experience our 90 minute guided kayak excursion led by an experienced naturalist. Explore the wildlife of the Oyster Bay estuary and come to understand why the National Wildlife Refuge is home to such a diverse population of species. See the outdoors like a naturalist as you follow your guide in your own kayak. This is a great opportunity to experience nature while enjoying the water of Oyster Bay Harbor by yourself or with family and friends.

Rent a paddle

Take your paddle adventure into your own hands! Reserve your single kayak, double kayak, or stand up paddle for sunset times around 6:30/7 pm and enjoy the natural beauty and calming energy the sunset offers! Explore alongside shore road, or paddle all the way down to Bayville bridge and back for more of a workout!

Discover sail

*By appointment only

Explore all of what Oyster Bay Harbor has to offer at sunset with a Discover Sail! This program takes a maximum of four guests on a two-hour sail with a certified sailing instructor. This is the perfect experience for inexperienced sailors who want to see if sailing is right for them, or simply a relaxing cruise for the whole family!

*Make sure to ask for sunset when you book your Discover Sail!

$175 + tax for two hours, includes boat reservation and up to 4 passengers.
Children under 5-17 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.

Christeen Sunset Cruise

Tuesdays - Sundays from 6pm- 8pm

Soak in the best sunsets on Long Island. Spend time with friends and family while you cruising around Oyster Bay Harbor. You’ll want to check this activity off your summer must-do list! Explore Oyster Bay's stunning waterfront while enjoying nature’s spectacle as the sun goes down.

Shannon Kelly

Shannon grew up in Oyster Bay and received a Bachelor of Arts in English with a concentration in creative writing from Binghamton University in 2019. She has been working for The Waterfront Center for 6 years in various positions from Educator to Communications Coordinator. During her time at The WaterFront Center, she has taught over 500 children of all ages from various school around Long Island and New York City about marine, environmental, and biological sciences. When she was younger she loved going sailing with her father and has continued her education in sailing here with us at The Waterfront Center. Her passions include reading, writing, filming, being on the water, and rugby.
