Program & Rental Date Announcement
Connect your family to nature this spring and summer by getting out on the water with WFC! From kayaking through the marsh to seining on the beach or raising the sail on Historic Landmark Oyster Sloop CHRISTEEN, we have plenty of activites to keep you and your family busy this year! Our programs will launch on the dates listed below. See you in May!
CHRISTEEN
2023 Public Tours & Cruises officially start Memorial Day Weekend with a special Mothers Day Weekend sail on May 14th. You can start booking your public CHRISTEEN sails online now!
Private Charters for 2023 are being scheduled now; email booking@thewaterfrontcenter.org to start your Private Charter experience.
Mother's Day Sail
Treat your mom to a unique Mother's Day Experience on CHRISTEEN, our National Historic Landmark Oyster Sloop, and revel in the nature and architecture that make Oyster Bays Harbor spectacular!

Adult Sailing & Rentals
The sailing season is fast approaching! Prepare for sailing this summer season with your First-time or Returner Safty Sail! Returners can book their appointment starting April 1st to renew their safety sail and get ready to rent. First-time safety sails will start after May 1st, booked by appt via emailing booking@thewaterfrontcenter.org.
Sailboat Rentals
Sonar Rentals opens Memorial Day Weekend. Sonar rentals have been changed from a 2-hour- to a 3-hour minimum booking. Hobie Wave and Hobie Getaway rentals will start May 27th, Memorial Day Weekend (2-hour minimum rental). All sailboat renters must take and pass a safety sail for the specific boat they want to sail before renting.
Community Sailing
Open Community Sailing will start the first weekend in June. Woman on the Water will start Thursday, June 1st. To stay up to date on WFC’s Community Sailing, join our Facebook Group! Community Sailing Facebook Group.
Private lessons
Adult and Youth private lessons will be available starting in June, depending on the sailing instructor's availability. Please visit our private lesson form to start booking!
Kayak Programs & Rentals
All Kayak and Stand Up Paddle (SUP) Rentals will start May 27th, Memorial Day weekend. The first paddle rental is out at 9 am, and the last one is out 6 pm ( in at 7 pm).
SUP Yoga will have a special class on Memorial Day at 9 am and will return in full on June 13th; check out our website for the full schedule!

Spring
Enrolling your child in one of our Marine Explorer programs this spring will provide them with unique experiences to enjoy the outdoors and experience the natural world as they explore the beach, design experiments, and discover the Oyster Bay National Wildlife Refuge! Our outdoor classrooms, ecology wet-lab, and the historic oyster sloop CHRISTEEN are the perfect setting to enjoy and explore Oyster Bay's unique biomes.
Summer
Create a half-day, full-day, or split-day schedule from our "Marine Explorers" and "Youth Sailing" offerings. Build your child's camp experience tailored to their interests with programs specifically designed for elementary, middle, and high school students.

Work at The WaterFront Center and Work by the beautiful Oyster Bay! The WaterFront Center (WFC) is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization located in Oyster Bay, New York. We provide access to the waters of Oyster Bay Harbor and Long Island Sound through our marine education programs, recreational and instructional sailing programs, paddleboard, kayak, and sailboat rentals, and through harbor tours aboard our National Historic Landmark oyster sloop CHRISTEEN. Our junior fleet consists of new c420s, Optimists, new Sonars, Hobie Waves, Hobie Getaways, and a J105.
