Environmental Poster Contest Hosted By The Town of Oyster Bay

The WaterFront Center and Friends of the Bay have partnered with The Town of Oyster Bay to host this year’s Environmental Poster Contest open to 4th-grade students presented by Oyster Bay Town Supervisor Joseph Saladino and Council Woman Michele Johnson.

“This poster contest presents a great opportunity to bring environmental awareness to our young people, making them more knowledgeable on the importance of protecting our waterways and safeguarding our natural resources,” said Supervisor Saladino.

How Plastic Pollution Harms our Waterways

Students should submit a poster to communicate awareness of how items of plastic litter harm our waterways by illustrating the problem of floatables in our waterways. Submissions should be made on large poster paper, with the top three winning posters to be displayed at a Town facility and showcased in a future Town of Oyster Bay Environmental Newsletter.

SUBMISSION DEADLINE: Friday, April 1st, 2022

Prizes Sponsored by The WaterFront Center & Friends of the Bay!

“This contest is being co-sponsored by The Waterfront Center and Friends of the Bay, two organizations that greatly contribute to our efforts in further protecting and preserving the environment. Both of these nonprofit organizations have been a huge asset in helping protect our waterways,” said Councilwoman Walsh. “I invite all 4th grade students to participate in this great program, which provides a great opportunity to become more educated on the serious issue of plastic pollutions in our waterways with the potential of winning some great prizes.”
