Our program guide is published each winter with fresh pictures and colors, but most importantly, fresh programs. Every year you can expect WFC to offer the community something new. We’re always working towards developing meaningful ways to engage the community in sailing activities and to further our sailors’ skill development. In 2014 WFC introduced family- focused programs Family Sailing and the Junior Summer Program Parent Pass. In the wake of the success of these programs, we’re including additional group sailing options and family programs this season. Group Cruise is a great new option for friends and families. We invite groups of up to 6 passengers to join a WFC captain aboard one of our cruising boats with comfortable cockpit and first row seats to evening sunsets or afternoon lunches. What a wonderful way to relax on the water after a long day or mix up the weekend routine! While WFC juniors in our summer program spend the day sailing, kayaking, exploring the beach and learning marine science, often their siblings and parents are busy with their own agendas. This year, the fun no longer ends at pick-up time; instead, parents and siblings are encouraged to stick around for some fun with the Family Fun Pass. Families can choose from sailing or kayaking with friends and families to take advantage of the beauty of an afternoon on the water. As a sailing school, WFC offers the full gamut of program options. From a 2-hour taste of sailing to a 3-day cruising course, there is something for every level of skill and interest. One of our goals is to create life-long sailors, with comprehensive instructional programs and support at every level, including a watchful eye when renting on your own. To help ensure our students are maximizing their learning opportunities, we introduce our Learn to Sail – Package. The package combines WFC’s core Learn to Sail Programs including Learn to Sail – Basic and Learn to Sail – Intermediate, with the added bonus of unlimited Adult Sailing practice sessions. Unlimited Adult Sailing practice not only enables sailors to keep on track but it allows them to work on additional skills and meet new sailing friends. Once a student has enough experience under their belt, they are challenged to achieve US Sailing Basic Keelboat Certification. The package is rounded off with some perks, including a free WFC Racing session, half-off first rental and US Sailing membership. The LTS-Package is simply the most comprehensive, hands-on, supportive option for learning to sail, from bow to stern. Whether it’s a sunset cruise with friends, afternoon paddle with family or spending the season learning to sail, we’re looking forward to developing stronger sailors, deeper family ties and lasting memories with friends.
