3 Day US Sailing Certification Cruise

Enjoy the thrill of skippering your own bareboat charter on an exciting sailing vacation! Upon successful completion of this three-day, on-the-water, overnight course, you will be certified to skipper, crew, or bareboat charter an inboard auxiliary-powered cruising sailboat. Your US Sailing Bareboat Certification is a passport to charter anywhere in the world!

Planning a Charter (choosing a location and charter company, etc.)
Cruising Boat Systems (engine management, bilge and through-hulls, ventilation, dinghy, awnings, etc)
Weather & the Sailing Environment
Motor sailing
Anchoring, Rafting, Mooring
Living Aboard
Provisioning
Local Customs & Protocols
Navigation (distance, speed and time, plotting a course for current and wind, keeping a ship’s log,
electronic aids, inshore piloting, etc.)
Safety and Emergencies (unfouling a propeller, steering failure, storms, running aground, etc.)
* Course times are designed to accommodate participants arriving at the adjacent LIRR Oyster Bay Station

Fee:                   $795, plus approximately $50 in shared food and beverage expenses.
