3 Day US Sailing Certification Course

Set sail on a 28-31 foot sloop with diesel auxiliary engine and foller furling jib for 3-days of sailing in Oyster Bay and Long Island Sound! This program certifies students to responsibly skipper and crew an auixiliary powered cruising sailboat. The class is held during daylight hours in moderate wind and sea conditions.  Emphasis is on handling an auxiliary engine, docking, anchoring, boat systems including stove and head operations and basic navigation skills. This course prepares you for sailing to destinations; therefore students are onboard for eight hours each day.  Please bring a lunch and be prepared for weather changes.  Graduates have the opportunity to charter the same cruising sloops used in classes.
