6,460 children and 1,255 adult students participated in WaterFront Center education programs.

2,933 passengers sailed on the Christeen enjoying public harbor tours, educational cruises and private charters.

404 juniors attended one, two and four-week summer programs learning how to sail, fish, kayak, swim, snorkel, and discover the wonders of the local marine environment.

653 adults took learn-to-sail programs including US Sailing certified Basic Keelboat and Basic Cruising courses and Tuesday Night Racing.

Sonars and Rhodes 19’s were rented 348 times for a morning, afternoon or evening.  In addition, there were 18 season sailboat shares.

Over 80 volunteers helped prepare boats, crew on the Christeen, serve on the Board of Directors, organize mailings, raise funds, and many other valuable tasks.

52 people work at the WaterFront Center in year-round, seasonal, full-time and part-time positions.

The WaterFront Center’s total revenues were $1,159,000.  The operating budget for 2008 is $1,060,000.

40% of that budget will come from fundraising.

60% of projected revenues will come from program fees.

100% of the land at the Western Waterfront where the WaterFront Center resides is owned by the State of New York Department of Environmental Conservation and the Town of Oyster Bay.
