Oyster Bay is a pristine harbor only 45 miles from New York City on Long Island’s north shore. The combination of geography, tidal flows and abundant wildlife, including Frank M. Flower & Sons oyster and clamming business, make this a beautiful place for recreation and outdoor learning.

The Oyster Bay/Cold Spring Harbor complex has received numerous designations recognizing and offering protection to these irreplaceable natural resources. Designations include:
The WaterFront Center is on the south shore of the safe haven of West Harbor in Oyster Bay which offers learn-to-sail students a protected and scenic place to start. Sea grasses and stately homes line the shore. Almost no rocks or moorings obstruct an open stretch of water two miles long by one mile wide.
The hamlet of Oyster Bay offers restaurants, shops and several historical attractions such as Teddy Roosevelt’s home, Sagamore Hill, Raynam Hall, and the T. Roosevelt Sanctuary and Audobon Society.
The WaterFront Center is within walking distance from the Oyster Bay train station of the Long Island Railroad, and next to the Theodore Roosevelt Park. |
