Horseshoe Crabs - Pre K to 5th Grade PDF Print E-mail

Horseshoe Crab Long IslandEnjoy an entertaining and educational story about Harry the Horseshoe Crab, and learn about one of the oldest living species of animals found on the Earth today.  Find out how horseshoe crabs have evolved over 350 million years!  Students examine live specimens and discover that these amazing animals are not crabs at all.  Although they may look frightening, they are really one of the gentlest animals in the Bay.  Each student also creates a model of the horseshoe crab to decorate the classroom. Upper grades investigate the biology of horseshoe crabs and their uses in medical research.
