Board our unique classroom, the historic 40-ft oyster sloop, Christeen, and become the crew. Students the raise sails and coil down lines as we set out for a scientific adventure on beautiful Oyster Bay and Cold Spring Harbor. During the sail students learn about local maritime history, oyster farming, aquaculture and the estuary system which has been designated a National Wildlife Refuge.

Students rotate through several activities, including basic water quality testing or introduction to plankton study and a touch tank of typical marine organisms found at the bottom of the bay.
